Charts
Charts allow you to quickly and easily access data related to concepts through visual analysis.
Created charts can be used on Dashboards to be automatically displayed when a user logs in.
On the Concepts page, via the \"Charts\" button on the far right of each concept row:
- Charts belonging to the relevant concept can be accessed
- Existing charts can be edited
- New charts can be created
For charts, System Name is required and must be unique.
Chart Creation Flow
The following steps are followed when creating a new chart:
- Chart Name and System Name are defined.
- A View / List is selected for the data to be used in the chart.
- This selection is for preview purposes.
- When the chart is added to the dashboard, which view will be used is determined separately.
- The Chart Type to be used is selected.
- Depending on the selected chart type:
- Category
- Series definitions are made.
- The changes made are checked with Preview.
- For the changes to take effect, the chart is published.
If a chart is used in at least one Dashboard, the chart type cannot be changed.
Chart Configuration
Charts are configured under three main headings:
- Chart Type
- Category
- Series
Category and Series definitions:
- Vary depending on the selected chart type
- Have limitations based on quantity and field type
In Category and Series selections:
- Fields of the relevant concept
- Fields of specific types from concepts defined as Lookup on the concept can be used.
Category Definitions
- If the category field is date type:
- Day, week, month, quarter, year
- Week-year, month-year, quarter-year
based groupings can be made.
- Depending on whether the category field contains data:
- Only records containing data can be displayed in the chart.
Series Definitions
Different calculations can be made depending on the series field type:
- Count fields:
- Record count
- Data-containing record count
- Numeric fields (numeric, decimal, currency, small number):
- Minimum
- Maximum
- Average
- Sum
For the first series field, additionally:
- Record limit
- Sorting (ascending / descending)definitions can be made. For example: sorted display of the first 10 values can be provided.
Chart Types
Box
- No category is defined
- Only 1 series is defined
- Calculation is performed according to the operator selected for the series field
- Visual and Color are defined
Example:
- Company Count
- Total Sales Amount
Pie – Donut – Rose – Funnel
The definition conditions for these chart types are the same, only the visual presentation differs.
- 1 category
- 1 series can be defined
Additional features:
- Record Count Rule can determine how many category values will be displayed
- Values can be sorted with Sorting Option
- Funnel charts do not have sorting option
- Display is always from top to bottom, largest to smallest
Example:
- Sales Count by Sales Status
- Case Count by Subject
Gauge
- No category is defined
- Only 1 series is defined
- Calculation is performed according to the operator selected for the series field
The range is automatically determined based on the calculated value:
- 0–10 range → 1 unit increments
- 0–100 range → 10 unit increments
Example:
- Average Phone Call Duration
Line – Column – Bar
The definition rules for these chart types are the same.
- 1 category
- At least 1, at most 5 series can be defined
- Record Count Rule and Sorting:
- Works based on the first selected series field
Display differences:
- Line: Left to right linear display
- Column: Vertical column-based display
- Bar: Horizontal bar-based display (bottom to top)
Example:
- Estimated sales amount on yearly basis
- Actual sales amount
- Completed order amount
Stacked Column – Stacked Bar
- Category: 2 fields
- Series: 1 field
Working logic:
- Grouping is done according to the first category field
- Each group is subdivided according to the second category field
- Calculation is performed according to the series field
Additional features:
- \"Hide empty values\" option for both category fields
- Record Count Rule:
- Works according to the second category values within the first category
Others option can group values outside the limit under a single group
Display difference:
- Stacked Column: Vertical
- Stacked Bar: Horizontal
Example:
- Number of leads created by users on monthly basis
Item Limit
This function is the same in all charts. It determines how many categories will be included in the sorting order (smallest to largest or largest to smallest) based on the first selected category value.
Breakdown Limit
This function is used in stacked column and bar charts. Based on the second selected category value, it determines how many categories will be included in each column, sorting the second category within the first category in descending order (smallest to largest or largest to smallest).
To create a channel-based subject distribution chart for case records, the following definitions must be made:
- Main category = Channel
- Subcategory = Subject
- Series = Number of Subjects
- Record Limit = Top 5
- Breakdown Limit = Top 5
- Group Remaining as \"Others\" = True
Based on these definitions, the chart is created as follows:
- Case numbers are found by channel. The 5 channels with the most cases are listed.
- Channel columns are sorted from right to left according to the sorting value.
- For each channel evaluated, the number of cases per topic is recorded. Each column lists the top 5 topics with the most cases.
- The remaining cases for each channel (column) are shown in the \"Other\" column.
