Sales Management
Unit Groups and Units
To accurately manage product quantities in sales, quote, and order processes, Unit Groups and Unit definitions are used.
In Robosme, products, price lists, and sales items are built on this structure.
Unit Group
Unit Group represents a type of measurement.
Commonly used measurement types are predefined in the system by default.
Example Unit Groups:
- Quantity
- Length
- Weight
- Time
Each product must be defined with a Unit Group. This clarifies what type of measurement the product will be sold in.
Unit
Unit is a measurement unit that belongs to a Unit Group.
Examples:
- In Quantity group: Piece, Package
- In Length group: Meter, Centimeter
- In Weight group: Kilogram, Gram
- In Time group: Hour, Day
Each Unit record must belong to a single Unit Group. Units are directly used in entering product quantities and pricing.
Base Unit Concept
Base Unit represents the most fundamental measurement unit within a Unit Group.
Example:
- For Length group: Meter
- For Weight group: Kilogram
- For Quantity group: Piece
Base unit:
- Forms the basis for unit conversions
- Used as a reference in pricing and calculations
Only one base unit is defined for each Unit Group.
Usage Areas in Sales and Products
Unit and Unit Group structure:
- In product definitions
- In price list items
- In sales, quote, and order products
is directly used.
Which units a product can be sold in is determined by the Unit Group definition on the product. The units that can be selected during sales and the pricing logic work through this structure.
